Face Your Fears, Change Your Life!

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face... You must do the thing that you think you cannot do." – Eleanor Roosevelt.

What’s the thing you fear most?

For many of us, it’s starting something new. It can feel overwhelming… maybe even impossible. That’s why so many New Year’s resolutions fade away within weeks. But here’s the truth: if you can picture your dream and take even the smallest step toward it, you’ve already begun to make it real.

Growth happens outside of our comfort zones. Whether it’s committing to healthier eating, becoming more active, or finally tackling a goal you’ve been putting off,
There’s no better time than now to begin.

A lifestyle change isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about living with intention. That means making conscious choices—what food you bring home, how you move your body, the thoughts you speak to yourself. Self-talk is powerful: if you tell yourself you can, you’re right. And if you tell yourself you can’t… you’re right about that too.

I know not every circumstance is ideal. Resources can be limited, time can be short, and motivation can fade. But with determination, persistence, and discipline, even what feels impossible can become possible. Start small:

  • Drink more water.

  • Swap processed snacks for whole foods.

  • Move your body every day, even if it’s just a walk.

Small wins create momentum, and momentum creates change.

When I started this blog, I didn’t realize how challenging it would be to keep it going alongside everything else in life. But each obstacle has taught me something new. I’m still learning, still growing, and still facing my fears. Every milestone—no matter how small—is worth celebrating.

So, here’s my challenge to you: start today. Take one step toward the life you’ve been dreaming of. And let’s do it together, encouraging one another along the way.

What’s the most challenging goal for you to achieve right now? Share your story with me. You never know—your experience might be the encouragement someone else needs.

Hiking is one of the simplest yet most profound ways to connect with nature. It challenges you physically and mentally and has numerous health benefits. Whether you’re wandering through a forest trail, climbing to the top of a mountain, or wading through rocky rivers like The Narrows in Zion National Park, hiking gives a sense of freedom and exhilaration that few other activities can match. But here’s the truth that many new hikers—and even seasoned ones—sometimes overlook: conditioning and strength training are just as vital as good hiking shoes, a hydration pack, and a trail map. As someone who loves the outdoors and hikes often, The Narrows has given me a new perspective on hiking and how I can improve my preparation for advanced hikes.  It doesn’t matter if you’re trekking a rugged backcountry route or strolling through a local park. When your body is well-conditioned and strong, hiking not only becomes easier but also safer and more enjoyable. Let’s dive into why conditioning ...

How to Get Motivated and Stay Motivated!

"People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing — that’s why we recommend it daily." – Zig Ziglar Motivation is like fuel for our journey toward our dreams. Some days, the tank is full, and we feel unstoppable. Other days, it’s like we’re running on fumes, struggling just to put one foot in front of the other. According to Webster’s Dictionary , motivation is “a force or influence that causes someone to do something.” But in everyday life, motivation is that inner spark — the thing that moves us from wanting to doing . The truth? Waiting to “feel motivated” before taking action is a trap. Motivation often comes after you start, not before. The more action you take, the more momentum you build — and that momentum feeds your motivation. In this post, I’ll share exactly how to get motivated when you’re stuck, and how to stay motivated long enough to see real results. Whether your goal is to get healthier, start a new business, improve your f...
